I am using Dynaudio BM5A Active monitors in my living room. The sources are a Technics turntable and Oppo BD83 universal player. I control the volume using a Placette passive pre. It sounds amazing in my open ceiling living room....Im done with tubes, seperate power amps etc...for me the Dyns are a clean an accurage picture and the Passive pre does not seem to impart any color...it simply controls to the voume.

Its a large room but I listen nearfield, with the equalaterial triangle being about 7 feet.

I listen to a lot of Blue note Jazz SACDS and couldnt be happier with the setup...
