I have a pair of Yamaha P2201's and a pair of Yamaha PC1002's that I want to power a surround sound system, using a consumer Pre/Pro. The Pc1002's have balanced XLR inputs, but the XLR inputs on the P2201's are unbalanced. This is my first experience with pro amps, but I read that they operate at different levels than HiFi gear, so I bought Henry Engineering Matchbox's to convert the unbalanced RCA inputs to balanced XLR outputs. So how do I make this work for the unbalanced XLR inputs on the P2201's. Thanks
Follow Ups:
Simply use RCA from your pre to 1/4 into the unbalanced input
Tip/hot
Sleeve/ground
If you want to use the XLR inputs on the unbalanced input then
use pin 1 as ground/pin 2 hot
I found the manual online
Nice amps by the way......
Thank you Pro Sound Guy for taking the time to help a new member solve a problem and for the link to the manual. You are a huge asset to this forum.
