I heard the r909 a while back and was quite impressed with the bass. since they are both OB designs, I was wondering if the cs2 would/could compare at less than 1/2 the cost?
Follow Ups:
Hello Audionut.
I have not heard the R909, but I think the CS2 will more than hold its ground. The R909 is still pretty conventional in most ways, save for the dipole bass section.
•dome tweeter.
•low efficiency drivers.
•passive crossover.
•no DSP control for equalization or time alignment.
•not bi-amplified
So, while It may sound excellent, it still has many performance limitations built in to make it acceptable to a more mainstream customer base.
The price comparision:
Jamo R909 $16,000
Emerald Physics CS2 $2995 with DSP processor
I have been watching that same pair that has been on agon for the past year. the dealer cant seem to sell them at his cost.
