I was curious about how the midrange driver dropped out from the ls1 to cs2. Has the crossover just been shifted up to 1K in the cs2 and the ls1 will come out as a higher-end model?
Really admire the innovations in your designs, especially at this price.

Hello Angaria,
As you noticed, the new CS2 is an active 2-way compared to the active 3-way CS1 prototype. The CS2 crossover point of 1kHz is achieved through the use of a woofer with good midrange performance up to around 2kHz. This does, however, necessitate careful crossover settings including a LR 4th order slope to ensure the woofer breakup region is outside the response window. We wanted to create a paradigm shifting product in a very moderate price range and avoid triamping. The approach used in the CS2 has proven to be very good sounding and simple to use. And at 2.5" thick, it is much more visually attractive than the 3-way design.
The CS2 is a completely distinct product apart from the CS1, which itself will likely become a production product in the future.
Thanks for your reply - another reason to be impressed with Eminence drivers it seems.
