Well you won't need another player this is supposed to play in CD players.
I do hope something else crops up when the disc is put into a universal player though (24/96/2.0 at least) but I haven't been able to find any other news apart from the original Softpedia article.
but I agree with Wendell... every bit as successful as SACD/DVD-A *sigh*
