Kind of like "The Mystery of the Bulgarian Women's Choir" album (on Nonesuch?) which was an unexpected hit in (when was it?) the 70's? I think part of that had to do with the women's liberationists championing it at the time.
OTOH, Ms. CfL has never been a fan, and she used to tell me, "The only mystery is why anybody would want to buy that album in the first place!". But as for me, yup, I'm a fan! ;-)

  IIRC, a disk jockey on WBUR Boston played the living doo-doo out of it, and there's a statue in his honor in Nonesuch's Break Room.
