This ring is placed around the cheaper Furutech AC plugs. Would it be a good idea to get FI-11(R) + CF-080? This will be used for my new top of the line power cable. Price doesn't matter.
I like the silkiness of FI-11 (R) a lot, but want slightly more metallic sound, but not as much metallic as FI-50.

Ok, I bought two of those rings, money in toilet! FI-11(R) on its own is a perfect match for my cable, when I added one ring, it reduced silkiness and added a mechanical character, similar to FI-50. It doesn't work good at all with vocals. It made it MUCH worse! FI-11(R) without the ring is amazing! Floating into out of body state!
Around other plugs maybe these rings work good. I will try!
I tried the rings around Furutech FI-11 Cu. I got the same round and mechanical transients as from FI-50, but it was darker and more laid-back. It fits perfectly with my new Darth Vader Power cable!
You might like to experiment with these good sounding, moderately priced AC connectors. I use a set for a Monarchy Audio digital processor and think highly of them. Very neutral other than a somewhat dry top end, which was ameliorated by plugging the Valab Carbon Fiber Aluminum Housing AC plug into a very liquid sounding Oyaide SWO-XXX AC outlet.Valab Carbon Fiber Aluminum Housing AC plug:

Are these connectors a solder connection or a screw type connection-similar to Furutech?
Thanks
Al
The mechanism is similar to Wattgate AC connectors with screw-tightened termination slots.
