Has anyone tried Svetlana tube in this use? I've read they tend toward microphony.
Are there better-sounding/behaving varieties of this tube for this use?

Try finding RCA tubes. They are actually Mullard tubes, but typically cost less than the 'boutique' brand. Mine have been very stable and not microphonic at all.

I am very happy with mine Telefunken NOS ecl82. Sounds great, both in the dac and preamp
