Alan Holdsworth played pub gigs like all London jazz musicians and I was lucky enough to do a gig with him. I don't remember the music very well. What I do remember was a long conversation about bicycles. He was a real geek - talked for ages about Shimano gears etc etc. Nice guy. Very dedicated.
