Another album I have'nt pulled out in a loooong time. Even forgot what band he was with that brought him to fame (Derek & the Dominoes). First solo release Self titled, 1972 & Bought it aroud 74 in a cut out bin. He found religon & it's a little preach'y, but its not a bad sounding album. He has a great voice & song writing style. A long forgotten icon.

Follow Ups:
didn't find it as preachy as you say...don't think he'd "found religion" yet, although for sure he was a southern boy who knew his gospel and loved to incorporate it. but this album is fantastic, and any derek & the dominoes fans who don't have it would be well advised to find it.
With songs on the album like, "A day with out Jesus"; "Back in my life again" & "I'd rather led the straight life", ah, I think he found religon.
well, if you mean he like religious material, yeah. as i said, gospel was his roots. but if you mean he found religiion and cleaned up and was living the straight and narrow in 1970, uh, no. bobby would be a wild child for many years forward.
I stand corrected. I guess I'am remembering rumors that where floating around at the time. Thanks.
