played the Pizza Tapes! Grisman rules! The collaboration between Grisman and Garcia was magical!

Follow Ups:
Have you heard/do you have "That's It"? Grisman and Garcia jammin' on some Miles tunes. CD only but nice stuff. Another nice one is "Dawg '90" (no Garcia) again on CD only but his CDs are always a cut above.

all of his stuff is desert island material. To really stress a CD based system...any of the Tone-poems...I like the first one the best but only a hair bit better than the rest. And although I don't play, I'd kill to have some of the instruments pictured in the CD booklets. I keep a pretty good Yamaha around for those who have fingers that aren't stuck up their noses. Mine? They're permanently stuck!
"Hello, Ry...I have a 1937 Martin 000-45 and a 1937 National Style O steeltop that I'd love to hear you play...could you come over for dinner some evening?" (I cheated and got out the Tone Poem booklets).

I seem to remember a great Grisman/Bill Monroe collaboration too. He turned me in to a string instrument player. I still have his transcription of 'Swing 39' somewhere around here.
Here's his stuff with other artists...I believe Bill Monroe was mentioned?I have a lot of Grisman LPs and a lot of his CDs...there isn't a dog in the bunch...but plenty of DAWGS!
