Hey Marc,I got a phono preamp on my linestage(Supratek) and an outboard one (Cornet II). The Teres goes to the Supratek and the Thorens MKI and MKII shares the Cornet at the moment. Yes, I have to switch the cables to accomodate both in the time being. I hope I will have enough funds later on to build another phono preamp.
Thanks for the nice words about the tables. They are a labor of love and each have its own character that I truly enjoy.
regards,
Abe

..is there anything more cool and more of a rush to have running well than a nice turntable? From a kilobuck SME or Yorke job all the way down to Empires and Dual changers.. i am always just blown away by how nicely engineered they are. The pricey stuff, for their overdesign to get the simple stuff done within tiny tolerances.. And sometimes the others for how many moving parts they can get to work harmoniously and the production aspect of them as great products.
Always nice to see care and feeding like you're doing Abe.
I'm gonna look for some older posts from you as to how wonderful that Teres sounds.. I know this was a post about the nice job you did on your 124.. and i LOVE the 124.. but I think that Teres belongs in the M.O.M.A.
Have a nice one.. Marc
Thanks Marc! I truly appreciate the kind words. It made my day knowing that someone can relate to the effort I invested to resurrect an old (but very nice sounding)table. This is the main reason why I post here in AA! I know that many inmates "sees" the beauty and potential of this type of tables compared to the mega buck audiophile approved, magazine promoted types and recognizes that the blessing to afford high price turn tables is not the only way to enjoy the real analog sound.
I like having multiple tables as well. I really like my thread drive table even though the idlers have more prat. Sometimes you want the midrange more recessed .Have you considered building an inexpensive phono switcher box to run three tables to one phono section? It could select between MC and MM as well.
...my response to BatNastard below.
Thanks!

I have a Niles input selector in storage and I just have to find where it's at from the many boxes in there. But I think I will get this one. Looks (and the name) more analog-like!Thank you for suggesting this to me.
but it seems like a good idea. It stuck out in my head when I saw your post above. I think there may be a few others floating around out there too.
