Looks like there may be big problems at Warner (& Rhino). Buy those reissues while you can!-Bry
Follow Ups:
reporting the demise of competitor TimeWarner. One can also tune in to Fox TV broadcasts and hear all about the demise, poor quality, and corrupt anti-american mismanagement over at CNN, CBS, MSNBC, etc too. Doesn't make any of it true. I would take this article with a grain of salt. There may be some facts (lack of hits this year, etc.) mixed in but there is also a heap of snide innuendo ("here's a suggestion: why not just give up...").
I am happy to have purchased the new Tom Petty record as well as Paul Simon's "surprise" in the last few months (both records sound good and are pressed flawlessly). Unfortunately, neither are particularly good albums artistically (IMHO of course).Re-releasing the back catalog will fit in nicely with the "lazy" strategy Warner seems to have adopted.
It's a good thing Matador, Drag City and Lost Highway exist to fill my needs for well recorded, artistically interesting new vinyl releases as I am not in the market for a new set of Eagles and James Taylor re-issues.

The recent Rhino UK reissues of The Eagles albums are tremendous and a huge improvement over the original pressings, as decent as they were (and only decent). The reissues are demo quality.
Huh? I haven't heard the reissues, but the original pressings of the 1st 2 LPs (on the white Asylum label) were fantastic.
I have the originals too (on the white label Asylum label), but the originals are not close to these reissues. They are stunning. The usual outlets carry them -- Music Direct, Acoustic Sounds, etc. They were put out by Rhino UK. I'm telling you they are STUNNING, STUNNING, STUNNING!!
Wow this is scary!I was so looking forward to all those LP re-releases.
Maybe since they are focusing on catalog sales they will continue with this program.
Any thoughts?
