I have the Coronet 2 and really love it. I was thinking that, since I like the Coronet, perhaps it would mate well with the Clarinet. What do you guys say. If so, what amp would be best?At the moment I am using an Audiolab 8000A integrated. My turntable is Harmon Kardon 65-C (Linn clone). Speakers are small monitors built using Fostex 103's (I think).
So, I don't need much power. Also, I am not trying to build the greatest system in the world. I want to stay around $2000 for the entire setup.
Thanks for your opinions on the Clarinet / Coronet combo and any amp suggestions. I would even entertain speaker suggestions if you know of some monitors that sound good and aren't too expensive.

I only used Henry's Clarinet for a short time but found it to be a competent performer. It is a very simple yet sophisticated circuit with no negative feedback and few coupling caps.
It seemed to be a perfect match to the Cornet2.

The Cornet/Clarinet combo is awesome. I tried it for a short period with a NAD C272 power amp and it sang. The only reason I'm going monoblocks is those physically fit my setup better. I do need some power as well since I'm as Maggie man and 50 wpc won't cut it with 1.6s. My main amp is the 100 wpc Jolida JD-1000RC tubed integrated.

Thanks.I used to have Maggie 1.6's too. Ran them with a Krell KSA-150. Had a tricked out Linn LP-12 and a Burmester preamp.
