About a year ago my cleaning lady ko'ed my clearaudio vertuoso wood cartridge. She bent the cantilever 90 degrees. This was mounted on an rega p25/rb600 table.I finally got around to repairing it. Instead of just going back to clearaudio for a trade-in which is around $400 I elected to get Peter at Sound-Smith to install his ruby cantilever/nude diamond combination.
I also let him mount the cartridge. Total cost $425.
To make a long story short, the sound is outstanding, extreamly smooth and extended with lots of detail. I've been listening for the last week and eagerly spinning all my favorite jazz lp's.
I was very hapy to put my dual505/om20 back in the basement for hopefully indefinite storage.

I have the same cartridge, Virtuoso Wood with the $250 Soundsmith retip. It is outstanding, I have been doing the same, pulling out LP's and giving them a "new" listen. I highly recommend the Soundsmith retip program. It takes a while, but well worth the wait.
Peter is a great guy to work with. I like hearing when the good guys are doing well. There aren't that many left. It's good that we can support them whenever we can.
