I have been using the Ace Space Arm since I got my SpaceDeck table several years ago. But from time to time I read that Nottingham arms are the weak link in their tables. Have you tried different arms and if so, what have you settled on?Thanks,
Follow Ups:
I couldn't get the AceSpace to work properly with the VdH Condor. I never got the same VTF value on the Acoustech digital scales everytime I measured, and a simple fly landing on the counterweight would also change the value. I also had different value when measured on the outer groove and on the inner groove.
I also didn't like the play around the pivot. Basically, everytime you touch the arm, it moves back or forth and the VTF changes.
I sent the arm back and they said it was fine. Maybe it's just the synergy with the VdH that doesn't work, I don't know. It just ended up driving me crazy. It didn't feel like a great arm to me, whereas the turntable itself (I have the 294) is very solidly built. I love it.
I think Nottingham are a slightly weird company. They make great turntables but the plinth it comes with sounded like crap, for example.
I do believe the arm is not as well built as it should, but in all fairness, it's not as expensive as superarms.
I'm getting a Brinkmann tonearm, as I used a Brinkmann TT before and miss the amazing quality of construction, speed and dynamics of their arm.

I am still using the Ace Space arm that came with my SpaceDeck. I don't really have any desire to try or change any other arm. Especially after talking to Tom Fletcher (designer) at Nottingham and getting a sense of the design approach and synergy strived for.Ignorance is bliss!
I have had an RB600, OL Silver, Bluenote Borromeo, Bluenote Borghese, OL Encounter, Spacearm, and now an Ace-Space arm. Of all these, the Nott arms were synergistically the best match. I think to better it you need to really move up, as reflected in Rob's post. Next I would like to try a Basis Vector 3, but neither me nor my pocket book is any kind of hurry to make that move.
Thanks for the tip on the Boston Audio Matt. It arrived yesterday and really sharpened up my sound. I'm surprised that a matt can make such a difference. (I'm very skeptical of these things, but needed a matt and figured what the hell)I'll have to post picture up on these boards to find out which arm I have. I'm not sure what came with my table. I love the table, but miss the Rega RB700 that was on Rega P5. I have a feeling my arm will be the next upgrade I make.
Actually, here is a few pictures now...Any idea what arm this is? (Please don't beat me up for asking, I bought it used and never asked the seller))
