VTF is vertical alignment which should be strictly perperdicular to the record right? The cartridge of the Musical Hall was originally tilted to the right by ~15degrees, so I turned it to the left until it seemed perperdicular.

Thanks for the clarification. The tracking force was adjusted by Music Hall's tracking force scale.
Some tonearm counterweight markings can be off .2 g or more.

Thank you for for the reccomendation, I was actually thinking about
getting a scale to set the tracking force perfectly, I just thought
that the original one from Music Hall is good enough to get started.I've just reduced the tracking force from 1.75g to 1.50g. The distance
between the bottom of the cartridge and the record is still about 1mm.
Is this normal?
However, I'm not familiar your cartridge. I think my cartridges have at least two-millimeters clearance. You might want to buy a new cartridge. There are some good ones out there in the $100 range or even less. A lot of people have been raving about the Audio Technica AT440MLa. Perhaps that would cost less than a replacement stylus for your Goldring 1012GX cartridge.
