Lp is very stiff and inflexible.

Follow Ups:
...an original, albeit the presence of a deep groove could mean that it came later in the run (=possibly a more worn stamper) for that release.check if it's more a ridge or a groove.
in any event, it's pretty early!
is there a script "P" in the deadwax? to some, it looks like an ear or a pretzel.
I can't tell if it is a ridge or a groove on two of the three BN's. The third BN 4003 has a more of a ridge and has 47 West 63rd NYC on the label. It also has the "P" in the dead wax or more like a "C".

when i say "ridge" and "deep groove" i mean:a) "ridge": the surface is flat from the spindle hole outward...until you hit a raised surface. it is then flat from that step up to the outside of the label
b) "deep groove": if you were to run your finger from the spindle hole toward the outside of the label, you would encounter a "dip"/step-down. this groove is about 0.5mm...and steps back up for the remainder of the label.
4003 is an amazing record, no? if you have the non-DG version, you likely have an early -- but not first -- pressing.
your 3 sounds record is likely also an early, but not first, pressing.
no matter -- you scored quite early BNs for a song!!!! i'm excited for you!
"A" for BN 4072 and "B" deep groove for BN 4156.
Either way I am happy just to score a nice clean copies of what looks like might be nice records to listen to.
Thanks for your time and patience.

generally after 4063 or so, a DG signifies a record from later in the run (still an early pressing though).i'm sure given that both are on heavy vinyl they sound amazing. nice to have great performances AND great sound.
i'm jealous of your finds, olly! i have both these records but sure did not get them for the price of a candy bar!
what would one expect to pay for these as I am going to contact the chap who sold them and see if there is more to come. I would love to know what these normally sell for.
OLLY
...could be upwards of $50 (or even more).check www.popsike.com for some sample values of ebay auctions.
should you tell the chap that he could be sitting on some high-value stuff...or should you give him a bit more $$??
Seeing as I have a conscience I will tell him but hope I still get them at a good price.

i've faced a similar problem once. i actually found the only way i could live with myself was to give full disclosure about what items could fetch on the open market. full disclosure does mean the hassles associated with going those routes -- and the fact that everyone takes their cut.i've got my fingers crossed for you. i'd be excited to hear about you landing more great records at great prices.
but for the time being I am happy with this lot. Mind you I will make a phone call.
