I'll assume it is. So what matrix, stampers etc........ should I ask sellers in the Uk.
Follow Ups:
All early Elton John UK pressings are very good. They are typically on the deep red vinyl that's color is onlt noticable when you hold it to the light. Madman especially good, the orchestra is very rich tonally and dynamic and the performance is stunning. Tumbleweed, Madman & Honky are my personal EJ favourites.
I also have an early UK "Empty Sky" (not the later re-release with different songs) and its on a very deep purple vinyl that you can only see held up to a light. Sounds fantastic..
I have an original first UNI and two UK pressings on DJM (Dick James Music) records. Both black label. One of these UKs is a deep deep red vinyl - in fact it looks black unless you hold it up to the light. The other is truly black. The black has these stampers:
DJLPS 410 A-1/B-2
The red one has these:
DJLPS 410 A-3/B-4I don't know if these are firsts, but they look close. Maybe some one else can say. The black one sounds a small bit better than the red. Both sound better than the UNI. Deeper fuller sounding, bigger and truly enjoyable. The UNI isn't bad but the UK is better.

the Steve Hoffman forums, there was a big discussion about origial Elton John DJM UK pressings there a short while ago.
