That Road Warrior artwork on the album never did feel or seem like it fit the movie or was quite right...can't put my finger on it(too over the top, garish?). When I first saw that cover, that fuel rig or "super 18 wheeler" looks like an evil Robbie The Robot from Lost In Space laying down with rocket thrusters on the bottom...or the rig from Spielberg's 70's film "Duel".
I had that Jefferson Starship LP but got rid of it ages ago...Maybe it was the cover artwork that did it. The Asian woman is sexy, but the dragon makes the whole thing "un-sexy".
Follow Ups:
The Road Warrior actually is a pretty good sounding album. Maybe i'm just attracted to shiny things :-)
I recorded it in 1987 from an LP owned by a college friend of mine onto my entry level NAK deck from my NAD turntable/Signet cartridge through a Kenwood receiver (all of early 1980s vintage).I listened to it a lot and liked it. Sort of a poor man's Holst The Planets! NOW I WANT TO HEAR IT AGAIN!!
I should record it onto cd for the car, might be good driving music!
