I was about to ask whether somebody had a 1219 service manual when i came to my senses and went to the Vinyl Engine straight away. They have a service manual PDF in English and German, free to download as usual. VE and VA forever!
The 1219 is a 'non runner' although the motor spins, the idler wheel looks good. It's complete even with the changer spindle. Automatics as usual are the problem. Hail the simple beltdrive TT like the Pioneer Pl-12D. Work to do, tips and tricks are welcome.
Cartridge, and this is the reason i bought the TT in the first place, is the legendary AT15XE with original stylus. Just checked it on a 1226 and it sounds good! Even on such a humble TT you hear it's something special. 10 euro is a bargain for the cart only. If i can get the 1219 up and running it's a super bargain. Big brother of the 1226, heavy platter, BIG motor. Alas no photos yet, my sister borrowed my camera.

Follow Ups:
I just spent a good bit of time going thru a 1219. The biggest overall problem I found was grease that had hardened and caused parts to stick or freeze up.
The main problem on mine was the speed control lever mechanism was frozen so badly (grease) that it would not allow the idler wheel to move against the platter. After cleaning everything up and re-lubing, the only other thing that needed attention was to set it up so that the auto-start and return functioned. This required a lot of time studying the mechanism to figure out what the problem was. It turned out to be a little pin that moves against an arm, that in turn moves the arm. It has a rubber cap on it to create enough friction to move the arm. The cap was damaged, so in it's place, I put a dab of hot glue. Two points of this that that took me some time to figure out were 1) realizing that the arm needed at least a rough setup so that the it was balanced light enough to allow the friction of the pin to move it, and 2) finally finding directions that the auto-start cycle should be run with the arm locked in it's holder to reset the mechanism.
Everything works as it should now and I'm really pleased with the sound of the table.
You've got a good deal. The Dual is definitely working long and hard on (or paying someone to do it). Of all the automatics, this one and the 1229 were in my opinion the best Dual made. (My personal preference is for the semi-automatic 601 and 701, but I've owned the 1219 back in the day). You may find it's just a spring problem...something is not pulling the captstan against the spinning motor shaft.

I have bought a lot of dead decks for the cartridge alone.
