I was at a shop this Saturday. They were getting a custom-made speaker (using old WE horn) ready for delivery to a customer. The cabinet on the speaker was unfinished. The dealer explained that the customer did not want a fancy veneer because he was going to pass the speakers off as a yard sale find. The pair cost $50k, plus the trade-in of a $20k+ speaker.
Wouldn't it be nice to be in a position where one can actually "hide" such a purchase?
Follow Ups:
Sheesh! $30k in a hidden upgrade!
It's $50,000 plus the guy had to trade in his $22,500 speakers (so about $72,500).To pull off that kind of upgrade, I think I would have to sell both kidneys.
Might as well sell both kidneys to fund the upgrade...
Once the wife finds out she's sure to beat the piss out of you anyway!
