Kim,
I actually have 2 of the Russco tables. The most recent acquisition has the bodine motor while the other has a different motor (don't remember the brand or model). I designed my plinth with a solid bottom to accomodate the other motor. When I tried to put the table with the bodine motor in it the other day, I found that the bodine motor hangs down further. The table will not fit unless I cut a hole in the bottom of the plinth to allow the bodine motor clearance. I'm just wondering how you determined the location for the motor cut-out in your plinth.
Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken,If I remember correctly, I made each layer by trial and error. Starting with the top layer I measured out roughly where things should go and started cutting with the jigsaw, starting off smaller than what was required for the Russco to fit through the openings. Then I would enlarge where I needed. After the first layer was done to my satisfaction, I traced the opening onto the second layer and proceeded in the same manner. With the bottom layer I made the piece oversize on purpose by about 1" in both directions so that I could fit and center the motor cut out fairly close to the motor and I would still be able to trim the the sides to accommodate the side pieces of Bubinga. If this is too confusing let me know and I'll try and get a measurement from the bottom side later this evening.
I pretty much had decided that I would have to use a trial and error method also. I just thought I'd ask if you had been able to figure out any kind of scientific method of determining the location. Thanks for the input. Keep an eye on the forum. I should be posting information as I make progress on mine.
Ken,
I'll be watching for your project. If you need anything I might be able to help with, just holler. If you want I could send you larger files of the photos I have. Just ask, or e-mail me.
