"Wife had lunch meeting, UPS just dropped off acousticsounds order! Unpacked, packaging disposed, records cleaned, she'll never know."Except now you've told the world... :-)
Which leads to the question, "Are there any female record collectors out there?" I don't generally see women haunting record stores or thrift store record shelves. Is this distinctly a male phenomenon? Does music do something different to the male brain? Looks like a ripe field for psychological study.

the woman who wrote a very interesting column for an audiophile rag a few years back? Stereophile, I think? I always found the column a good read...if it was you, consider yourself both complimented and missed!

Glad to hear it-welcome to the mostly male-dominated party! On the various forums I've been on, I've not seen any women posting, but perhaps they want to remain private and not be "hit on".My wife doesn't share my passion for collecting, but does enjoy some of the things I find, and I keep an eye out for things she likes (mostly classical, and some jazz). I usually try to arrange a loud rock and jazz listening night with friends when she is out for the evening.
I said something trivial about her beating me to the punch and she laughed & put her arms around the bin in protetive mode. I went on to lunch fist came back and she was gone. Now the guy who sellsthese records tells me she just uses the covers. Frames them for around the house. So I am not sure she counts.
they'd get more attention if I weren't married.
I am fortunate to share this hobby with my wife.

...And eggs me on when it comes to "junk shopping".She is good for a 2 hr ride for lunch and a salvation army.
Mine listens to endless descriptions of the details of antique turntables, allows me to acquire more, and gives honest opinions to designs, so that I can obtain the proper WAF in the DIY projects that I do. Then, she allows me to toss them, and start over again, regardless of the cost and effort spent.
Mosin it is us who are driven to concoct all these miraculous contraptions. She is just adapting the best way she can?(or not)
BTW, I have been spinning the TRX-2 all week and the thing is beginning to open up a bit more. I think I should give it another 40-50 hours and then do a review.
This is one sweet piece for what I paid....and you paid a bunch less!
Two years ago it was she who suggested we unpack vinyl that we boxed up in 1990 or so, along with a DD Technics TT we had at that time. Each step of the way since then she has egged me on, just like your example. After 25 yrs of marriage I'm still surprised by it, too!
