I have lossless (Flac) rips that are much smaller. Whole albums usually take up about 250-300 megs. Double albums 500-600 megs. I suspect you are ripping to wav and not Flac. But even at wav, your file size seems big.

That could be it. You might try ripping to Flac. It is supposed to be the same as a direct copy but with a compression scheme that allows for a smaller file size. My son (the computer geek) assures me that it is the same as an original copy. It may be worth a try.

The size is about what I expected for 24/96 recording.

Flac is freeware and will do the conversion from wav. Just go to downloads at the top of the page
