Anyone have any luck with the offerings of either Vintage
Electronics or Garage-A-Sales?
Follow Ups:
There is a thread on Audio Karma that says not good things about the G-a-G one and has reviews of some of these. I think the $40 VN35E generic Ed Saunders sells and makes is really great. Check him out on eBay or his website and there is a review. He also sells a much cheaper one-under $20, but I haven't tried it. he admits that it's not as good as the more expensive one, but it would do in a pinch. I can vouch for the more expensive one, though. JICO is good without a doubt and sells the HE and SAS versions, but the "E" is still very good and some prefer it.
Particularly the 35 SAS and 35HE SAS.

Thank's, people. Those PICO's are apparently Japanese, which
is o.k., but Shure recommended a generic made in Switzerland
selling for $39. Are you familiar with it?
nt
The only $39 generic made in Switzerland is the one Ed Saunders sells. William Thakker on eBay also sells swiss ones-two versions-the "E" for $29 and the "HE" for $49, so it's probably not those. I have tried the cheaper one and it's OK, but not as good as the Saunders one for an extra $10.
The plot thickens. Let me regress to the mail I received from Shure.
First, they said they didn't have any because they sold faster than
they expected. DUH. They named Vintage Electronics as a source,
who promptly told me they didn't carry the cartridge or stylus.
Shure then provided the following: ' John's Electronics ' 773
878 3716, and ' Rome ' 702 631 7558. To this point, my question is, do we have a consensus re: the styli named so far,
and is the JICO worth $33 more then the rest?
