I sold almost all of my KINGs in the last 4-5 years.I think you might have to pay $40 or more for a mint KING.
Never heard the Classic.
My NM original is BITCHIN'

Hi Allan,I have a mint King copy of this that's mono. And I have an at-best VG original. This is one where I prefer the Japanese reissue because the vinyl on mine is absolutely dead quiet. Of course a NM original might sway me the other way.
And agreed, an awesome LP.
i didn't know they released this one in mono.i am not aware of any mono releases in the 1983 king "Blue Note Masterpiece" series. are you 100% sure? (i'm not doubting you, but if you're sure that would be the first i've heard of it.)
Well, I'm 99% sure (which of course is 100% unsure, and no offense taken at all). The jacket and record say BLP 4045 and there's no mention of stereo anywhere in sight. I'm listening to it right now and it sure sounds mono (and damn good) too. I bought this in Switzerland, where I live, so maybe the monos were reserved for Swiss jazz afficionados :)Anyway, it's the reason I bought the record because I already had an original, albeit not in the best condition. The vinyl is absolutely perfect, just an excellent record in every way.
that is cool news, if true. again, it's the first i've heard of such a thing...and i'm very excited by it!
