I have purchased a Fidelity Research FR-64 tonearm. The seller told me it was a 64S. Since there are no markings on the tonearm (and no box), how can one distinguish between the 64 and the 64S (I am not asking about the silver wired versions because I know silver wire was an option for either)? The arm looks like a brushed silver (it matches the color and look of the heavy counterweight) - not like aluminum.
Also, if there is no sticker indicating that the tonearm is silver wired (I assume it could come off and be lost over time), is there a way to find out whether it is or not?

Thank you for your reply. Are you referring to the cuing lever? If so, would it have the same texture as the the counter weight - brushed steel appearance?
No, I'm referring to the arm itself.
The "S" has a steel wand.
