Has anybody used a toggle or rotary selector switch to flip between 37.5 ohm and 150 ohm outputs? Could you post a pic of that?Also, what would be the gain in db at each of the two taps when driven by a Benz Ace Medium, 0.8mv with 24 ohms internal imp?
I just ordered up the 'mags and some nice RCA's and a nice aluminum enclosure, so I want to build it right the first time.
Oh, and i also ordered everything for the Auricap version Cornet 2. I've been seriously considering building one for 2 years. At least now if I build it, and I dont prefer it over my existing pre, it's gotten enough good press I could sell it with minimal loss.

Just curious, aluminum enclosure are you using? Trying to find a nice case for my Cinemags...

BOX, ALUMINUM, UNPAINTED, 4.72" x 3.70" x 2.07" D, HAMMONDP-H1590C
* Rugged, diecast aluminum alloy (tough yet easy to machine), electronic instrument enclosure.
* Lap joint construction provides protection against access of dust and splashing water. Also provides for improved EMI/RFI shielding.
* Vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges.
* Four 6-32 x 1/2” machine screws secure lid - into tapped holes.
* Designed to meet IP54.
* Low side wall draft angle (2 degrees or less) for easy P.C. board mounting.
* Dimensions shown are exterior dimensions.
Using a DPDT switch, tie the red & green to the top of the switch, the blue & orange to the bottom, the center would be connected to the neg (outside) of the input RCA jack. Repeat for the other side. Keep the wires short and twisted. There are several ways to wire the shield and ground. experimentation will pay off here.
My leads are not short in the pic. But my unit is quiet as is and was built as a quick experiment. It works so well that I have not gotten around to making it pretty yet.
This is a somewhat blurry closeup of the switch:
I think you will probably like your Cornet2. I was really surprised by the performance of it and how much better it is compared to my ARC. It is an enjoyable build anyway. I am building Henry the Clarinet linestage now. It is just as well thought out as the Cornet2. Have fun!
