And I didn't clean either of them before dropping the SME IV with the Ortofon MC 30 SuperII on them... but both are near mint so no issue. With the new baby I have only been able to go up and listen to the good system a few times in the last 2 months. The copy of war has been on my desk awaiting a spin for 2 weeks now... It sounded very good.

Follow Ups:
New lp + bonus 7" + free album download = $9.99!
I wasn't familier with the band but a friend recommended them and at this price I'll gladly discover new music. The 7" was a cool extra the store had behind the counter and I'll probably never use the download but this is THE way companies should be promoting music.PS I really like the music and the sonics are pretty good too!

Picked up both for $3 each at Hou record show. A packed show. People were standing cheek & jowl at the tables. Perhaps b/c there wasn't an Austin show in April this year.Aoxomoxoa, Green WB logo label '71 remix. (Orig '69 mix on Green label w/ W7 logo.) Real VG++/NM-, jacket spine perfect, slight ding upperleft corner, no discoloring, small minor ring wear at very bottom of front; vinyl NM-. Great sonics & music. Love this record, including St. Stephen, Rosemary, China Cat Sunflower, et al, even What's Become of the Baby. I'll have to compare to the original W7 mix in one session.
On the Beach (NM-), orig '74 Reprise (no W logo on label perim). Very nice fidelity. A laid back record, to sure. Had to have this for See the Sky About To Rain.
Eagles The Long Run, Led Zep III, Procol Harum Exotic Birds and Fruit...and some more but that's all I can remember. All of them after a maintenance session. Caig Deoxit and Pro Gold on all connections, switches and tube sockets. Love those post maintenance listening sessions.

Just a day kicking back and spinning music genres wherever my mood takes me.I spun John Klemner's Touch on an MFSL too....now that was some tight sound!
When I first heard "Lost in Space" I didn't like it at all. It must have been my mood because when I heard it later, I was completely captivated by her creativity and sincerity. I probably shouldn't listen to it so much because the graveyards are full of relatives who committed suicide over the years. Depression and bi-polar disorder run deep in my family, but I find the album to be quite addictive. I suppose its appearance of reality, rather than fantasy, is the draw for me.I believe that Aimee Mann is one of the most intense artists out there. She is to modern music what Jackson Pollock is to art. For me, there's an inescapable draw to her work, and it won't turn loose.
Something about female vocals played through tubes and Maggies.

Bruce Cockburn's Stealing Fire. Cleaned (because bought at thrift store for .99$ CDN).

I love the concept of sides.
"Wake Up" by the Arcade Fire is one of the greatest songs ever, IMO.
Oh, yeah--I did clean them both first.

Picked up a US (now formerly) unplayed Blue Epic promo from a former CBS employee. Also includes a white label 45 Gates of the West b/w Groovy Times. I see Groovy times on some compilations but nothing regarding Gates of the West. Did I strike a little gold here? (paid $5)
Spun the original Japanese issue last night! Great listen...
IMHO, hands down.

I bought a two-CD Clash retrospective on Columbia Legacy that sounds freaking awful. Tinny, compressed, no discernible bass, etc.
The vinyl is a revelation.

both my copies beat the CD, easily.
"The Blues ain't about makin' yourself feel better; it's about makin' other people feel worse!" -- Bleedin' Gums Murphy
...but sells for very high prices.
I have 2 copies, identical Epic pressings except one came w/ lyric sleeves and the other didn't.

Don't know why, I didn't buy all that many imports at the time. It's got a green sticker on the cover that says, "18 track double LP" with a price of 5 pounds.
It was missing one of the lyric sleeves, but the vinyl was super nice. And yes, it sounds waaaayyyy better than the cd.
It'll turn up one of these days.
