I also agree. She is an amazingly talented songwriter IMO, and I also admire her understated singing (and guitar and piano work). I've got a handful of her LPs back to her first when she was 16 yrs old (the fidelity is awful but the talent is most certainly there). She's still performing and making recordings, although I think "breaking silence" in 1992 was her last one on vinyl.I don't have this one, though, and I'll be picking it up.
Follow Ups:
I think the only vinyl release of "Breaking Silence" was done by Analogue Productions. And, a fine job it was! (is)

perhaps one of the best sounding recs in my collec. Unfortunately I'm not to keen on the music, unlike others. Isn't it always that way!
Due to cost constraints Janis oversaw the entire production of the LP including arranging for the pressings overseas, production of the cover art, and even applyling the labels to the LP's when they arrived in a shipping container and stuffing them into sleeves and the outer jackets! It is a double LP with the second LP being a more dynamic 45 RPM version of selected songs from LP #1. It's a wonderful package.
Musically it was a bit of a departure for her. The music was clearly skewed toward traditional country and in fact Dolly Parton appears in a song.I confirmed with her that the latest effort, "Folk is the New Black" will not be released on vinyl. It's a shame because it is a superb recording and musically I find it as good as "Breaking Silence".
