Thanks ! I think I'm headed for Vu tommorow to buy the cartridge.I'll double check with SoundSmith to see what the cost is and if there are any reasons not to buy this cartridge.
Dam this forum is incredible. I don't know what I'd do without it.

For that kind of cash, I would think they would let you listen with their Black demo on your table for a couple hours.
This may happen tommorow exactly as you mention. Vu is as good as they come. (a bit tired with a new born but hanging in there.)Dam it's good to have local dealers.
Hey, looks like we both have similar systems. I see you have a Meishu Phono and E. I also use the Meishu Phono, E-SPe, AN-Vx interconnects, AN-SPe bi-wired speaker cables.
"Meishu Phono, E-SPe, AN-Vx interconnects, AN-SPe bi-wired speaker cables. "Add an audionote SL2 step up and our systems are exactly the same, even down to the cables.

That is an excellent idea.
There are a lot of possibilities starting from the Denon 103, 103R, Shelter 501 aside from those mentioned already.
Bottom line is what suits your taste!!!
I asked Vu what my options were and he said anyting but Shelter.(For my sytem)
I don't know about the synergy with your arm and table but certainly the Shelter can go very well with the Meishu and the E.
Or, is this dealer hype just because he does not carry Shelter?
Considering the Audionote tables use Rega arms, I really don't think I'm that far off with my table. Somewhere down the road I'll buy another. You have the exact system I am using? One hell of a set up isn't it? What table/cartridge are you using?
"Or, is this dealer hype just because he does not carry Shelter? "
This is possible, but I really don't want to find out the hard way.
I also used a Fidelity Research FR1Mk3F cartridge but it's going to Soundsmith tomorrow for cantilever / stylus replacement. Likewise, a Benz Wood L2 but it's going back sometime soon for a re-tip.
You betcha! You like it, I like it - must be one hell of a set up! I'm using in my house here in MD a VPI HW19 Mk 4 with the TNT 6 platter and SAMA. Tonearm is the Fidelity Research FR64S silver with the B-60 base for VTA adjustment on the fly. Cartridges, Denon 103R, EMT XSD15, Shelter 901. Transformers, EMT STX20, Shelter 411 II. I also have back up Audio Note M2 & P1SE. I have also a few vintage amps, turntables, speakers. I also have an Audio Note TT1 and ARM2 but it is in my house overseas. Should get together - I'm here in Howard County, MD. I'm sending you e mail after this.
It soiunds like your the person that would know better than any how cartridges work with the audionote system. The fact that you own one and all of those cartridges can really help me out !How far are you from Dulles airport? (Drive time?)
Of all the cartridges you mention, which are you liking the best?
I'm about 40 miles close to MD29 from IAD. Could be about 40 minutes depending on the traffic in the Beltway.
That is difficult to say and I use different cartridges for different types of music. Furthermore, I don't want my bias to influence you in any way.
I have to know what tonearm and also table you have to figure out at least theoretically if the cartridge will be mateable to the tonearm. We can calculate the theoretical resonance frequency.
