I received this email yesterday from Acoustic Sounds acknowledging that the LP pressing was defective. If you got yours from AS they'll send another. If you got it from somewhere else, you can use this as leverage to get another...Regards,

You're receiving this letter because you've purchased the Diana Krall/From This Moment On 200-gram LP from Acoustic Sounds. We've come to realize that an inordinate amount of these Classic Records pressings are defective. As a gesture of good faith, we'd like to offer you a replacement copy, free of charge. We will include your free replacement with your next Acoustic Sounds order. If you order by phone, simply mention to our customer service representative that you would like your free replacement LP. If you place your order over the Internet, please include a note requesting your free LP. If you have already been contacted regarding this offer, please ignore this email. Please understand that this replacement copy will not include an outer jacket. That said, we do not expect you to return your original copy, therefore you may use your original jacket to protect your replacement LP.
We very much appreciate your business, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank you sincerely,Chad Kassem

That's a classy move.
It's extraordinary really. I have been listening to my Classic Records audiophile reissue of Led Zeppelin IV tonight and it is of very high quality, could be Japanese and that's my highest compliment! That reissue came out in 2001, I believe. As has been highlighted here recently, RTI has shown that it can do a very good job for other reissue labels. It would be interesting to know what the politics of the matter are because it has to have something to do with cutting corners to save costs/maximize profit on Classic's part, as was suggested in recent posts here.
RTI did not press this Krall disc. Classic tried another pressing plant and did not have much luck. I don't know who pressed the new ones. Eric
I agree. I've purchased a bunch of their jazz stereo and mono releases on 200g and they have been great. This one seems like it was definitely a dud.

Up here north of the border, my local shop is still waiting for the replacement from the distributor... 8 weeks in counting.

In what way was the LP defective? Thanks.
The pressing is very noisy, at times almost unlistenable because of distortion. There was a previous thread recently on AA about the albums problemed pressing on Classic Records.http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.mpl?forum=vinyl&n=630629&highlight=classic+record+diana&r=&session=
