Keep the three at outer orbit, but perhaps try moving the label area three, further out from center, away from label. But keeping them equidistant/offset/different patern circle from the outers. So that A) the label is not riding higher. B) More even spacing/support of the playing area. Kind of like using the vinyl itself in tension. Taking advantage of its own surprising natural strength. And .... no law says you can't try making the individaul cork dots smaller in size as well?A hockey puck is cheap to try as a record weight also, in conjunction with a spotmat type interface. And noo, haven't tried cork dots (but do use polyurethane ones instead).
Follow Ups:
I cannot get the spacing right for 10" LPs. No matter what the dotswhack my fingers when I try lift off the record ... because you have to have those dots at LP edge. So it's a power on/off situation and for an anal retentive type [read "real ass"] it's "an issue."

A recent change from around sixteen-eighteen dots total. Positioning of dots in each circle, staggered relative to dots in other circle (if that makes any sense?). Using a single dot at center/spindle (of different height/profile). Was doing a little 'visualizing' with a clear slab o wax, and came to realize less was worth a listen. Always was a leetle skeery playing a ten inch, with the protruding dots and naked platter (who ya gonna call).I always stopped the platter for the last two years, since going spotmat. Now keep it spinning. A little more time consuming to drop/center the decoupled weight. But no big. Will fly a Decca ten inch today and see if anything has changed?
just the record weight. the idea that the weight is damping and the outer dots are supporting without having to worry about leveling re center thickness. This really helps with the 'bowl'jobs I have a few of. 'course, though, when you flip the bowl it doesn't help at all ... just secures the bowl, so maybe it does help but I hate those bowls.
