I only heard about stuff like that...Now don't get me wrong ,us rural Yankees like our crack pots and excentrics but
If someone cracked up or was wacky enough so that gun shots ,cops or nudity were involved we always said about the person".."well he finally made that trip to california"
Follow Ups:
I did try to go to California. I left Alabama, but I only made it to Souix City Iowa. They had a concert with the band that sang Yellow balloon , and they had a light show with a kaleidescope that projected on the wall. It was cool, but I couldn't dance. That was far enough west for me, so I went home. Besides, we had more going on in that little redneck college town that you would ever imagine...Sherry was only one of many. The Allman Brothers played there all the time, and major concerts were common. I saw Iron Butterfly's last concert there. I held some plump girl on my shoulders through the whole thing. It hurt, but she was a Libra, too. What was I to do?
pin striped pants and wing tip shoes..but I loved rock and roll...all forms of it..My best friend took me to an apartment that had beaded curtains, black lights and glow in the dark posters and Ino Goda Da Vida playing on the stereo. I presume he was there to buy some pot..The fella that lived there took one look at me ans started sweating..he he he.....I heard my friend say "he's cool"...I have not seen Mark since he moved to (were else)california. Now he was really cool
I wore a green field jacket with holes in it over a tie dyed T-shirt, jeans with holes in them and no shoes from 1969 until 1975. Then, I got leisure suits and a haircut because I was finally released into the real world, and I had a degree to prove it. By the way, the real world sucks by comparison.
