So I just upgraded from a Dyna 10x5 to a 20xH...and I discovered something that I thought should be shared. I'm running a Nottingham Analogue Horizon with an Origin Live modified RB250 'arm. In this setup the 20x, relative to the 10x5, is too "short" thus leaving absolutely no room for VTA adjustment, i.e. with the 'arm base all the way down in its collar the back of the cartridge is still higher than the front even on 180gm LPs. Having said that the 20x, even in this position, is sounding better than the 10x5 so I'm not exactly losing sleep here. However, for the truely persnickety vinylhead this arm/cartridge combo could very well cause nervous breakdown.
Follow Ups:
May be you can try a mat.
Had a DV20Xl on my Orbe with Rega 250. They do sound better with the VTA trimmed up a bit but do not sound awfull tail down.
I opted for the Michell VTA adjuster and it helped out no end.Could try some large washers...(22mm hole)
Have fun.
Mine was the other way around...Odd.
