Whilst doing a little research I came across this TT from Brinkman. I have been unable to find out much more about it (not even from the Brinkman website). Anyone any experience of it and can I find any specs for it somewhere. They seem to be missing. I believe Brinkman have an excellent reputation and anything they produce is unlikely to be rip off tat. Google produces plenty of results but no reviews or specifications.Could this be the step up from the SL1200 that many DD afficanados have been looking for without going the "second hand" route with all its possible pitfalls?
Price appears to be £3500 or about $6000.

Hi,The Brinkmann Oasis is not as yet available to the public. I was fortunate to have and use one at the last Stereophile Show (held in New York). The drive mechanism of the Oasis will be a 'magnetic drive' similar albeit different from a 'direct drive' and will be available worldwide January 2007.
Thanks so much,
There is no such thing as a "step up" from the Technics. This is the greatest turntable ever conceived, especially when paired with a Denon 103. Anyone who has visited this forum should know this already, particularly those who have never actually heard a good TT/cartridge combination.
Sorry - I am not clairvoyant, what turntable are you refering to. If it is the Technics as the greatest, then you are mistaken. Good it is for the price and beyond but the best, I think not. If it is the Brinkmann you refer to as the best, I cannot argue as I have never seen or heard one in the flesh, so to speak. You may be right but until 2007 when the unit is commercially available how can you possibly know?
I'm sorry and I apologize, but my post was an early morning attempt at humor directed toward the people who frequent this forum and seem to think pretty much along the lines I described.Obviously I have not heard the Brinkmann TT, but every one of that company's other products I have heard has been excellent, including preamp, amps, integrated amp, DAC and another TT/arm/cartridge combination (The name of which I can't recall right now.). Certainly that doesn't guarantee anything with regard to the new one, but some companies seem to produce fine gear consistently.
