I've tried everything to get it to sound good and nothing helps, my AT12s kills it in every area.
Those '80's Audio Technica's are great aren't they? I just resurrected a Mk12sII with a brand new ATS12S stylis and put it on my tonearm this week. Very nice musicial sound from this 25 year old cartridge.
I even tried the at12s stylus in a At3500 series and it sounds killer tracks like a mother including Lp's that the Shure couldn't. My biggest grip with the shure is I had to crank the volume knob on my Adcom 565 to around the 1:30 postion to get decent volume not with any of these At's or My Ortofon F15e . Yes these are keepers. SGHHHHHHHHHHH don't tell anybody cause stylus are hard to find and getting harder well to get one at a decent price lol. I paid with shipping 15 bucks for mine from ebay a couple of weeks ago I was shocked no one else bid on it.
seems to be a mismatch between your Adcom and the cartridge output that many love. Did your preamp hum at the 130 position and how loud are your desiring to play music and its genre?
