What's the rush? Is it really so bad if the record spins for a minute, or even a bit more, at the end before raising the arm?As I posted below, my wife enjoys being our TT remote control because of my disability, but when she's not around, I don't necessarily struggle to get up until the music is over, and I always figured it was no big deal.
Now, falling asleep, that would be a different matter. I could use auto lift and shut off for that, but I have a tube preamp with no remote on/off, so I'd still be in trouble.

in the runout gives me the "willies."

In fact, I'd like to do a compilation LP of different runout groove sounds, since I've heard so many. The fun ending would be that the runout grooves themselves on my complilation LP would actually be modulated for music, albeit very short and repeating pieces of music (yes, there would be a Side A and a Side B of this LP).

At least I don't buy into the 24 hour rule. Now that's crazy.Seriously, this is a good post and resulting thread. I too have considered an auto or semi auto turntable for the sake of convenience.
(BTW, you do know I was joking about the runout groove, right?)
