Absolutely - I really need that visceral experience to get the body and feel of the instruments.The Gallo Ref3s I have go down to 20hz with the bass amp.

I didn't think it went even close to 20Hz. Maybe 40Hz.
You're right Garth, the go to the mid- to high-30s (IIRC) amplified singly.They do require the seperate bass amp to power the second voice coil in the woofer to reach that low. Then they'll go to the low 20s.
When you had those in place, were you running Gallo's SA amp too?
Stunning is all I can say. I used to have Reynaud Twins, have heard lower-end Maggies, and was really stuck on the Vandy 2ce sigs for a while.These beat them all in holographic soundstage (no mean feat against the Reynauds or Maggies), bass depth and punch, and timbre.
