I've used Pro Gold and liked it. The Walker Extreme SST is substantially better. And the Walker is neutral across the frequency spectrum, which is not the case with some other contact enhancers I've tried. For cleaning surfaces before applying E-SST, I use isopropyl alcohol unless there is obvious oxidation. In that case, I use Kontak or Caig DeoxIT followed by isopropyl (the follow-up cleaning with isopropyl is particularly important for the DeoxIT since it leaves a sonic signature to my ears).

I have been wanting to try the Walker Extreme SST but I still have reservations about viscous applications when applied to electrical connections. Is it that a dramatic improvement?I clean all my connections with Caig Deoxit/ProGold but wipe the connections dry with a fresh clean cloth after application. Pretty silly huh?
Kenster, sounds like a good practice for using the Caig fluids. The Walker Extreme SST is a paste and it dries to a soft solid over time. It does not migrate, and it cleans off very easily with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton cloth or swab. Because it is HIGHLY conductive, use a very SMALL amount to just lightly paint the contact surface and be careful not to accidentally get it where you don't intend it to be.As to the sonic benefits of Extreme SST, it is a dramatic improvement over every other contact enhancer I've used -- it does make a a very positive difference. I consider it a necessary part of my system set up and use it on all contacts in my system. My comments from a year ago about the sonic improvements hold true for me today:
Excellent info and thank you sir.I just may try some Walker Extreme SST one of these days.
I keep my system(s) pretty simple/basic so as to eliminate as many connections as possible as it is clear to me that any RCA connection is detrimental to the signal.
See my system profile for further info.
