I'd buy a cd player and cds instead and have perfect sound forever!;-)
Now that the price has climbed well above the cost of a new Loricraft I wouldn't bite.- the Loricraft works on the same principle as the KM, so it should be just as effective
- the KM draws the thread through automatically, on a Loricraft you twist the spool a few mm after each pass - no big deal IMO
- the KM has an automatic fluid dispenser, on a Loricraft you have to use a bottle - no big deal IMO, and necessary even with a KM if you use more than one type of fluid
- the KM has a built in brush for spreading the fluid, on a Loricraft your brush(es) are seperate items - less than no big deal IMO, and again necessary even with a KM if you use different brushes
- a Loricraft would come with the manufacturer's warranty and the excellent and friendly support of Norm at Smart Devices
That's my $.02 anyway. No affiliation, etc., etc. Just a satisfied Loricraft owner.

It was very expensive. I now have the Loricraft unit which in my experience is more dependable and works equally well. I think I sold the Keith Monks because it took up so much room.
I have a very large collection, but they all have been cleaned at least once on my Nitty Gritty 3.0. I don't figure that I need to wet clean most of my records more than once, so I have sort of reached a stasis point.
That's about what my Loricraft PRC-4 cost. Worth every penny too!
I figured it would go for over two grand. I'm not really surprised because it is the best RCM ever made. If you really look at it however, it isn't that complex. It uses a Lenco turntable, a pump, a couple of low rpm motors and a few other misc. widgets. That doesn't make it worth less, but the photos do show the ingenuity of it all.
I once worked at Take 5 Audio in New Haven, CT ...Yale was right around the corner. Once a bunch of the dorms got flooded and students brought us their records by the thousands to have them cleaned. It took us over a month to clean them all, but that machine held up admirably.

I was tempted to bid, when the price was around $1,000. But I rarely bid until the last seconds, and I knew that it was going to be more that what I would pay. If my Nitty Gritty 3.0 didn't still work perfectly, after 20 years, and if I had thousands of records to clean, it might be nice to have.
