and the one that's been on the SL-1200 for the last 3 weeks is the Denon DL-110. It's got the best balance I've found and works very very well on the SL1200. It's got more extended highs than the Groovemaster while still retaining that "weight" - if you know what I mean! It's funny isn't it? It really takes weeks to determine if you're going to really love something in the long haul. I went nuts over the Groovemaster and still think it's a great cartridge - but I, too, found myself missing the highs.
I tried a 440ML and really liked it - it had a bit too much in the top end for my genre of music though. The DL-110 is a bit warmer and seems to hit it just right.
I liked the DL-110 so much that I've ordered a DL-160 which should be here any day now - I'll let you know how that goes and how it differs from the DL-110. This is it though - it's going to be one of these for the long haul! (yeah... right...)
As for the SL-1200, I'm still loving it! I'm actually thinking of ordering another one up from Kevin this week to put in my secondary system.
Follow Ups:
I've been thinking about the Denons but I see the Needle Doctor is out of stock. Anywhere else to buy them?
William Thakker on eBay always has them. He's got a good rep.

great service and fantastic prices - don't hesitate at all to order from him.
OK, sounds like the way to go. I just placed an order for a DL-110 on e-bay. I also purchased a Musical Fidelity phono stage and another Technics headshell. Now I can have both the AT and the Denon mounted, ready to go. Should be a great Christmas week as all of the little packages start to arrive!
All great purchases - let me know how you like that Musical Fidelity stage. Which one did you get - the new one (XLP3?) or a used one? I've been quite impressed by the Musical Fidelity stuff in the past - used to own an A300 amp of theirs years ago...

I'd be curious as to what you feel are the major differences between it and the DL-160? What I should expect?Still enjoying the MMF-7? I thought about picking one up for the secondary system too... there's one on Audiogon right now at a really good price.
When I sold them in the 80's I didn't feel there was much of a difference but I have no recent experience. I always thought they were very nice sounding cartridges.
No, I've never owned a DL-110 although I have heard one or two. There's a definite sonic resemblance between the two. I think I like the 160 a bit better. It seems to offer a wider, deeper soundstage and is just a bit more dynamic. Both are very good and true bargains, however.
Yep, I'm still liking the MMF-7. It simply goes about the business of making music with little fuss or bother. When I get my heavy plinth Bogen/Lenco from Fred J, I'll have two arm wands for the SME III. On one will be the Ultra 500 and the other a Denon DL-301/II. That likely will be my last turntable, barring any equipment failure.
