I was glad when I read the KT88s post saying the VTA should be 4mm. for this gear combo. I tried to raise it to 4, but I don't have enough thread to do it. 3mm was as high as I could raise it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. (I used bicycle headset washers to shim up the arm.3mm is a good improvement BTW.

Get some Rega hardware, it's not so expensive. You need one 4mm washer and one of their sleeve nuts. The sleeve nut actually has a thin sleeve that goes up into the very tight space around the arm post and grabs a whole bunch of threads, perhaps six times as many as the standard nut. Get a 2mm spacer while you are at it as you may need one later and postage will be free that way. The Rega washers are stainless and are the exact dimension of the arm base, so are invisible when installed. A much nicer fit and a much more firm grip.

I believe there is a special nut used when employing the 4mm spacer. Bill should know for sure.

The Alamo is essentially a Rega P2 with an acrylic platter and upgraded RB250, but the VTAF will work just fine on the P3.
I haven't installed it yet, but others have and they're very enthusiastic. Archive search on "VTAF" and "tubesforever."
