Nemperor Records (CBS) 1979After his debute album "Alive On Arrival" I bought his next three albums without hesitation. Still enjoy revisiting his stuff after a quarter century.
Follow Ups:
Mission of the Croassroad Palms from '95. Unfortunately, it's a cd but what incredible songs. I haven't heard anything newer than that one but I haven't been disapponted with any of his albums yet. He was in Chicago a couple of weeks ago and I planned to see him. When the time came I was too tired. I regret it. Seek out "Crossroad Palms" if you get a chance. You won't regret it. It's produced by Gary Tallent, Springstee'sn bassist.
That brings back good memories. Just the other day I was wondering what ever happened to that guy. Mississippian, I believe?
I saw him perform on an "Austin City Limits" show last year. He was still good. Obviously older but still had the voice. I think he played some of his newer material but I haven't been near a music store to see if it was available on cd/lp.
Wow,just dug this out tonight, played the bonus 45 "Oil Song". Did yours come with that?
.
I threw out all the bonus 45's I ever got a long time ago. I'm regretting that now that I'm older and wiser!
