I bought a Teres turntable in March and sent a $1500.00 deposit at that time. Based on reading the "ordering page" on the Teres website, I assumed it would take 8-10 weeks or late May to complete the table. However, its taken considerably longer, presumably due to circumstances beyond Chris Brady's control as I know he's been overwhelmed with interst in his tables. Apparently in mid July
Chris sent me an email to tell me the table was finally ready. Unfortunately, I didn't get the email (those things happen). Since finding this out, I've been trying to reach Chris at Teres by email and by phone to arrange final payment with no luck. I can't seem to get Chris to respond to my phone calls or emails to make payment. Is it just me or has anyone else had this problem? Please I'd welcome suggestions in how to contact Teres Audio to resolve this situation and get my table!
Follow Ups:
I am currently out of town and have been for the past week. The good news is that I am working in Hawaii. The bad news is I have been working like a dog! So I have not only been away from the phone but also too busy to keep up with Teres email. My day job is what pays the mortgage so unfortunately it has to take priority over the much more fun audio stuff.Tom, I think that we have worked out the details for for your delivery. My apologies to others that I have been (or will be) slow responding to, Please be patient. It may take time but I will get back to you.
As others have pointed out, I need help! I have some help lined up and am working on expanding Teres but unfortunately a major crisis with my day job hit just as I was ready to start putting some things in place.
Life goes on.....
Thanks for getting back to me Chris!
I was totally excited to buy a Teres 320 turntable about a month ago. I sent a few questions by email and never got a response. I bought a VPI table instead.
I was considering both a Teres or Progressive Engineering.Mike of PE was (and still is to this day) very responsive to my emails. He has actually given me his home number to call if I have issues. Needless to say I am a proud owner of a progressive turntable.
He answered my email inquiring about upgrading to the lead shot filled platter, that I'd sent only two days ago. He did mention in that email he's going to be outta town most of August, so I'd definitely try again ASAP...I got him using his Teres website email addy...chris@teresaudio.com. Good luck; I went thru similar delays obtaining my Teres 3 years ago. Believe me, he's totally honest, and will come thru for you.
Thanks for the reassurance Marc; other Teres owners have said the same positive things about Chris and Teres Audio. Its abit strange that you contacted Chris at Teres last night, as I've called him 3 times and sent him 3 emails in the last two days, with no reply. Is he screening my communications!? Over the years I have dealt with tens upon tens of manufacturers and audiophiles and never EVER had this sort of communications problem until now. This is particularly confusing given the excellent reputation that both Crhis and Teres Audio have as well as the company's "commitment to customer service" as stated on the company's Warranty Page on their website. I'm sure there's a logical explanation but it is a bit disconcerting when you're buying a $3000 product!
Is the one difficult aspect of being a Teres owner (or near owner, in your case). Making TT's is still Chris's hobby, his day job presumably keeps him pretty busy. Reaching him by phone is strictly pot luck, and sometimes products arrive at your door without any word that they shipped.I expect to see CB next March at an annual event we both attend. If your table hasn't arrived by then, let me know and I'll take him out for you!

Hes just way too busy. He should hire an assistant to handle the bulk of his mails and calls. GLorified secartary at least. I gave him a deposit on a Teres motor last March also. But I havnt tried to contact him yet.
Thanks for your feedback. Please understand its not my intention to denegrate anyone here as I've heard MANY great things about both Chris and Teres products. As a former business manager for over 25 years, I certainly came to learn that effective communication with a company's current and future client base is critical to the long-term success of any company.
Maybe he's the Wally Malewicz of the turntable world? Naaahhhh! Nobody can take THAT prize, but good ol' Wally himself (another VERY nice, innovative guy who needs to hire some help). I do think Chris is at the uncomfortable point where he's not quite big enough to really go full time, but definitely WAY beyond the point where he can do this without any help. He DOES have some help...any time I ship a part to him for upgrading, it comes back from somebody else, but he doesn't have a 'girl Friday' yet, and THAT's what it appears he needs now.
Maybe he should hire some busty cute 19yr old girl and keep saying the tag line "Its good to be the king" *grin*
