Good to hear! I just ordered one myself. I paid $370.00 and felt like I got a deal. Today I see it somewhere else for $299.00. Now I feel like a schmuck. Atleast I feel I will be pleased with the sound, Even if I don't have the extra $70 to stop by the record shop on the ride home.
Follow Ups:
that electra cartridge isn't very good, i upgraded mine that came with my NAD533 and i couldn't believe how much better the newer cartidge sounded (i had thought the electra sounded great till i heard something else). i have since gone to a grado red which sounds great. your arm should be able to handle the other cartridge just fine.if you need a shim and don't feel like paying 15 dollars for a 2mm washer from a rega dealer, yesterday i posted a part number from mcmaster.com where you get 10 1 mm washers that work fine as shims (stack two) for 5.98. or shoot me an email and i can send you two of the washers, i have a few left over.
I certantly agree with your opinion on getting a new cartridge. But per what Goldring told me that tonearm isn't capable of using my Erioca MC cartridge. Or much anything else in that category or better.
I am curious to know how good a cart I could isntall on that arm. Also would like to know if that arm can take a aftermarket Counter Weight.
Yeah, I hate that when it happens. Hear that you could get something for less somewhere else. At least we are supporting the hobby. heh
It does retail for $425 and you did get it on sale at least.
I can't wait to go home tonight and listen to some more records.
Don't think I will vex you anymore by telling you what I actually paid for my table *grin*Im curious to see if this table will support the $50 Acrylic platter and low costing Balance weight that BritAudio sells. hmmm ponder ponder
