Personally, I like the little brush. You have the one with the brush and mirror, right? I use it with a couple of drops of fluid on the bristles. It works well.

No brush, just a pad on one side and a mirror on the other....
It probably works fine. I have one that is a brush on one side with a mirror on the other.
what looks like a pad is actually a brush with VERY short bristles. it works exceedingly well, its the same as the stylast brush only much bigger.best case scenario-use a magic eraser cautiously, follower with a swipe from the sc2 BRUSH. the mirror is useless to me but then i can look directly at the stylus because i have universal headshells. with a rega or sme IV or V, you cant do that so easily.

Actually a quick brush of Stylast Preservative before each side of an LP will keep your stylus very clean, in addition to the cantilever suspension and stylus preservation benefits claimed for the product.
Plus, there is no way you can accidentally damage the stylus by doing this.
I haven't used a stylus brush in 15 years. Just the Stylast. A 1-ounce bottle will last you 10 years easily.
