I tend to agree. My experiences with vinyl have been along the same lines. My initial TT setup is modest - Project 1.2 w/Grado Red cart - so I can't really comment on the higher end stuff, but I found that it is adequate to distinguish a "good" LP from a "bad" one, and is good enough to make an intelligent comparison to CD. I've found exactly the same thing to be true - some stuff is wonderful on vinyl, and some of it just plain sucks and I'm grateful for CD versions to fall back on.

I'm going to keep mine too and I'm going to keep looking for clean vinyl at thrift stores and garage sales. But ultimately, I'll listen to whatever I find more satisfying.
