I have a Gemini xl-300 driret drive turntable part of Gemini Scratch master 4.0. One of the turntable is constantly spinning fast. Any suggestion as to correct the problem?
Follow Ups:
These are sometimes located under the platter, on the bottom of the turntable, or sometimes inside. Usually there are two, one for 33 & one for 45. Once in awhile, they're even located directly on the motor. Using a strobe, you should be able to pull it back into adjustment pretty easily with a small screwdriver.
My Technics SL-2000 has variable pitch contols on top, but bottom of motor itself has a sticker that says adjusted. Peeling sticker back reveals two motor speed adjustments.
the only thing i can suggest would be to spray the potentiometers with a cleaner/lubricant usually sold as tuner spray/cleaner, if you have a knob as the adjustment , or a lever that controls the speed ,you need to shoot some solvent/ cleaner into it , especially if it was usedf outdoors , where dust and dirt are present, you need to spray it into the openings of the controls though, not at them there are plenty of technitian`s out there if your unsure about it good luck.........zman
